Always consistent, fresh and delicious. Combination fried rice and Singapore mei fun have a lot of meat and vegetables. Best fast casual Chinese restaurant in Richmond.

Just not impressed with their food quality when I ordered the triple delight with fried rice and the egg rolls.
The food was just plain and bland. The fried rice was dry and hardly any taste or flavor.
    The egg rolls were tiny.

There is no parking and so you park on the street.
The dining room inside is dark and dingy.
I think I overpaid at nearly $20 bucks.

If you value your health do not eat here. The food ordered was shrimp egg foo young, shrimp fried rice, extra shrimp and sweet and sour shrimp, extra shrimp.

The shrimp in the fried rice and egg foo young were mushy and was so obnoxiously revolting to my senses I spat it out. Further the egg foo young was burnt. The sweet and sour shrimp seemed ok and firm at first, but the shrimp were over cooked and the coating hard as a rock so eating them became impossible.

Right away the call was made to East Villa Restaurant to report the bad shrimp. The gentleman on the phone offered to redo the order of shrimp fried rice and shrimp egg foo young, but not the s&s shrimp. The called was placed before I really got into eating the s&s shrimp. We agreed that tomorrow would be ok for the redo since my trust in the shrimp today was negative.

The remainder of the food was packed away, except for what was discarded as well the few s&s shrimp and rice eaten. Two hours later found me in the restroom with diarrhea, a sour stomach and a headache. The rest of the night was spent between the bed and the restroom.

Still feeling drained and having diarrhea, as the morning came my thoughts were on getting a refund for this sickening (literally) food. The call to East Villa Restaurant this afternoon to request a refund was pleasant enough. However the actual engagement in the store was outrageous.

They basically accuse me of lying and stealing (about 1/2 plate of food) for asking for a full refund.  How aggravating and insulting!
Then by requesting a cash refund, the manager now on the phone, subtracted over a third of the amount of the meal stating the I'd eaten some of the food. The same food that made sick.  Never ever, ever again.
A full refund is schedule to be return in 5 or 6 business days.

One good thing, the young gentleman behind the counter was kind and did all he could do.

As far as Chinese goes this place really doesn't stand out. Don't get me wrong, the food wasn't bad, but neither was it great. If you're looking for Chinese I would keep on searching. If you're willing to go to Carytown, or Scott's addition you have better options there.

For take out, this is actually a really solid option (to my surprise).

I'd noticed this place long ago and assumed it would be on the lower end of the spectrum of Chinese options here in RVA. While it's certainly not much on the inside, we found the food good and the prices even better. We ordered small dinner potions of singapore mei fun and szechuan chicken. Together it was $12 and we were comfortably full for the evening.

My bf really enjoyed it and he's chinese, so that's saying something! We'll certainly be back.
